Nick the Informative Fisherman talks about what covering water actually means and how to fish bass this way. It can be walking around looking for bass, throwing multiple lures in different directions, etc.

Since the term itself is broad, Nick tried to give you some processes about covering water – to help you wrap your brain about the whole concept. Covering water in multiple ways is what pro anglers are doing and what you should be doing to be one of them.

Casting a bait and retrieving it through a large water surface is not a bad way to cover water fast, but if you don’t know where many fish are located, it could be blank casting.

Even if you think you know the spot, you may discover that the lake you’re familiar with has tons of grass, or it has changed in any other way. Covering water in the morning may be a good idea since not a lot of people cover your area. Besides, going fishing in the evening right before the full moon is a terrific idea since the bass is reacting to light.
